So, what rubbish emails and calls have there been to Brooklands Radio station in the last few days?
Email claims access to a controversial video that shows how Russian traders turn $10 into $100,000 and that 93% of newbies using this method make an average of 769% return within 3 weeks. Entirely ridiculous of course. Scammers think including random impressive statistics make their rubbish believable but it has the opposite effect on anyone with a brain.
The Council Tax Department of some unknown council complains they have several times tried to contact me to let me know I have a tax refund of 372.41 pounds waiting. The email is from woodhosting.com which is not anybody’s council and I am addressed as ’Hey’ in the email – not my name.
Hooray – a baldness cure has arrived. Apparently Andrew Jackson was on ABC TV last night and he sprayed his bald head and his hair started to grow literally before the judges eyes. Yeah – and by the end of the show his hair was 12 foot long and he had to be admitted to hospital to have it stopped. Real hair grows at about 1 cm per month so you cannot exactly watch it growing by the second.
Mariam Abdul has $25.3 million in Syria (from her dead father) and wants me to invest it for her in anything I wish. I imagine this dumb message had gone out to tens or hundreds of millions of people and sadly some will be so desperate they will reply and get caught up in a scam.
Mothers are burning off flab. “Women who want to eat pizza and tortilla chips are in luck, this method changes your body no matter what you do or eat”. It’s obvious that what you eat and how much exercise you get affects your weight but the scammers want us to believe that’s not the case. Only in fantasy land.
