So, what rubbish emails and calls have there been to Brooklands Radio station in the last few days?
The usual rubbish from uk-prizes.co.uk saying my Amazon voucher is waiting. This time instead of the usual £100 voucher it’s now grown to £1000 and there are only three people left in the prize draw – me and two other named people. Break the data protection laws while you’re at it.
An email offering bargain priced flights between Singapore and Jakarta and the price is in Rupees and most of the email is in Indian. That must be a very small target market (maybe less than 0.01% of companies in the UK) for businesses this could be of interest to, so why flood the world with such pointless messages?
A claim that Alzheimer’s is because of a ‘thing’ in your brain and can be cured Yeah. Very likely. It’s from email address @brainlevo.cricket. As you would assume, that Internet domain suffix is for cricket clubs – not scammers.
An email offering free knives. This is a strange knife that folds up into the size and thickness of a credit card. Their advertising pitch is that it can pass through airport scanners undetected. That’s a dreadful idea.
A typical email offering SEO services (website optimisation) – but we get hundreds of these emails every month and this is from India as are most of these sorts of emails. Every idiot who knows what SEO means thinks they can get business by flooding the world with such spam messages.
