So, what rubbish emails and calls have there been to Brooklands Radio station in the last few days?
Xiu Gucklesberger has specially selected me to help invest $10,850,000 that is in a private account at the Bank of China. The rightful owner cannot be traced so the money will go the government unless I accept it first. That’s a lot of readies – or would be if it existed which of course it doesn’t. Just a scam designed to trap a greedy person willing to do something slightly illegal for a pot of gold. But I do like the name Gucklesberger.
An invitation to invest in British movie making. Sounds interesting but the email is from ds.the-sleuth.co.uk which sounds like someone with a good imagination but not necessarily trustworthy.
Apparently my subscription with WhatsApp is ending soon and I need to click to re-subscribe. Unlikely as I don’t have a subscription with WhatsApp and the message was sent to ‘Undisclosed Recipients’ so they don’t even know my name.
There’s lots of scams and spam about magical remedies for Alzheimers. This new one is a little different as it proposes a 4 course meal plan to cure Alzheimers and shows a picture of the dishes. Seems like Indian cooking but unrecognisable contents. Sadly there is no cure for Alzheimers and when one is found it won’t be a four course meal.
There is a new ‘shake’ recipe that cures insomnia according to latest emails. It’s well known that hot milk drinks help people to sleep and there’s lots of medical advice about temperature, exercise and many factors that affect sleep. However, as to the new shake – the placebo effect would account for anyone who tries and believes this is something special.
