This is a general scam intended to get you to click on something.
Typically it might say something like ‘Hi! We studied together” or “Long time since I’ve seen you”.
“Many years have passed, but I’m sure you’re still as charming”
“Maria (see my photos)”
There is an attached zip file supposedly of photos but no doubt containing a virus or other malware designed to infect your computer.
A variant of this scam is called “The Hallmark Scam”
You receive a message seemingly from Hallmark or another e-card company saying
“You have received an e-card from a friend. Please click here to view the card”.
Again it is a scam, the link will likely download a piece of malware – a virus or popup adverts that you cannot turn off etc.
Don’t click just because the word friend is used.
Scammers are not your friend.
