“2 ingredient face scrub erases 10 years of deep wrinkles and dark spots” is one title line in a set of scam emails. Obviously this is not true – deep wrinkles cannot be erased so easily – its not like sandpapering a piece of wood. The message also claims many hundreds of thousands of women already use this method. If that was true then the whole world would know about this and there would be no reason for the scam emails claiming to let you in on the secret. Just a scammer trying to get people to click to view a video.
An email that looks to be from Amazon tells me “We thought you’d like to know that we shipped your item. And that this completes your order. You order is on , and can no longer be changed.” And it gives the total for the order as $759.32. I haven’t ordered anything from Amazon so that could be worrying except that the email is actually from @offers.com which is an email address available to anyone so is used by scammers. Also the sender doesn’t know my name – she has put the first part of my email address as Dar … and guessed it may be correct – but it isn’t. So many people buy from Amazon that it’s bound to attract scammers. Stay careful.
An email from ‘Elizabeth Brookes’ asks why we sent her a payment of £461.33 and there is a remittance attached for us to check. This is just a typical scam message trying to get us to open the attachment. Not going to happen.
Scams based on MBNA credit cards have long been popular. This latest one warns us of closure of the MBNA credit card as MBNA has joined the Lloyds Bank Group. Consequently, we will be issued with a new credit card. All lies of course – the scammer wants us to fil in our details so the ‘transfer’ can take place. I don’t think so.
‘Kevin’ has a miraculous approach to diabetes and obesity. He claims a new 30 second trick will get rid of that stubborn belly fat and restore healthy glucose levels with no need for exercise or dieting. That may be the Holy Grail of dieters the world over, but it’s just a scammer’s fantasy. There is no such thing. Losing weight requires eating fewer calories than your body uses up. Scammer’s never stop.
