The scam message is all about how wonderful this new treatment is and guaranteed to work and how you can make the treatment at home for free with kitchen ingredients. It is obviously lies, to push you to click to see the video which the scammer gets paid for.

“10 cups of water a day slows your metabolism” is a strange claim by a scammer. It goes to explain that drinking lots of water increases the hunger hormone ghrelin but even if true that doesn’t slow down your metabolism – just makes you feel more hungry. Then it says there is a new discovery that makes you lose 2½ pounds of fat per day – just watch the video for proof. All lies of course just to make you watch a ridiculous video.

An email from ‘Michael’ says “Please confirm if this email is still active? Late Sister Dorothy bequeathed a large sum to you in her will. Kindly get back to me for details.” This is a simple email scam just looking to check if an email address is valid and if the owner is dumb enough to reply. Anyone who replies will find their details have been sold to other scammers and will get floods of spam and scam emails. Never reply to such emails.

At any time in the Western world there are many millions of people on diets. Scammers like appealing to people desperate for a solution to their weight problem that doesn’t involve doing a lot of exercise and cutting down on food intake. This latest scam is titled “Diets only shrink fat – here’s how you KILL it for good”.  Fat cells may be a nuisance around your belly for example but they play a critical role in the metabolism. The only way to ‘kill’ fat cells is through removing them with liposuction, so a supposed magic drink that kills fat cells, if it existed, would likely you as well. To be avoided.

The email claims that I have rights to $3 million held by the United Nations compensation fund. Compensation for what? – being sent rubbish scam emails maybe. I just have to open the attached file for details – no doubt it is loaded with malware so I will not be opening that. Totally ludicrous.
