According to some of the junk email I have been receiving lately, Elon Musk, the co-founder of Paypal, CEO of Tesla electric cars and SpaceX, has been busy again.
The emails suggest he has invented a torch that is so bright it can shine through cement and brickwork. Not only that, but it never needs batteries. Sadly, neither is true. Whoever created the junk emails took a genuine story about a battery system invented by Elon Musk for storing solar energy and modified it beyond recognition. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, as is certainly the case here.
Update: Just received a slightly different version of the same junk email. This one claims that both Bill Gates and Elon Musk call this the greatest prodcut (yes not product, but prodcut – obviously no spellchecker was used in the creation of this advert) they have ever seen. ’12,000 feet of light shines when you turn it on’.
Complete Rubbish.
That’s the Elon Musk scam.
