This is a scam similar to the old ones about perpetual motion machines.
Those machines used to be a very popular scam until finally people realised they are just stories to con people and there never can be a perpetual motion machine.
This new scam is about Tesla machines – invented 130 years ago by the famous scientist and inventor Nikolai Tesla.
Supposedly, you put 1KW of power in to get it started then it generates 10KW of power and can keep itself going indefinitely without external power source and all the time producing power.
The latest email on this starts out “Putin and Obama were shocked and nervous when they discovered this secret. They didn’t understand how the big energy companies failed to keep this secret”.
There is a famous video of the inventors of this new variant Tesla machine and it shows their machine working but it’s plugged into the mains for the whole period of the demo therefore it proves nothing.
The blueprint for this device is freely available and its just a standard circuit including an array of capacitors which can keep the machine going for a very short time after the mains power is turned off but this is not free energy.
The makers get their money by charging consultancy fees to those who try to build their own machine. The makers warn that the device needs a lot of tuning which can take a long time – hence the need for consultancy at $200 per hour. Anyone who builds the machine finds it doesn’t work and hence needs that consulting help.
The email says that over 240,000 Americans have watched the video – which only shows the power of hype.
The machine is also called a Quantum energy device. But that’s just to impress people who associate the word Quantum with science that defies common sense and is almost magical.
A stupid scam.
