In recent weeks there have been huge numbers of scam emails to the radio station that contain a dangerous file attachment and use various means to get you to open the attachment.
It used to be common to get such an email claiming to be an invoice due for payment or a payment slip or a courier notice for a delivery. But recently it has become more varied and almost any subject is now used to entice the recipient to open the attachment
e.g.
Dear Cliff, we are sorry to inform you that the item you requested is out of stock. Attached is a list of similar items for you to choose. Please let us know if you would like to substitute any of these items.
OR Good afternoon. Thank you for your recent call and please find attached your receipt of payment. If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know.

These messages are all scams in that they have attachments that contain viruses or ransomware.
This is usually j.lockey ransomware which will encrypt your files and then hold you to ransom to get the key to decrypt the files otherwise you lose them permanently.
DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS unless you are sure they are safe.
