Scammers often target people with debilitating medical problems that don’t respond so well to modern drugs.
Then they claim a magical ingredient or a long lost formula or a secret from the Andes, or anywhere exotic sounding that can provide the instant cure everyone wants.
They also make sure to attack the drug companies claiming they know about the remedy but keep it hidden so as to make more money. A touch of conspiracy always helps the scammer.
This latest one is a cure for gout.
Gout is not well known these day but it is a debilitating problem that can cause intense pain and reduce mobility.
So, the cure in this latest set of messages comes from the sender’s friend Robert and is an ancient Okinawan healing technique.
“Robert was unable to walk at all then 7 days of this new magical treatment and he was walking again and free of pain.”
All lies of course.
It is cruel to play on people’s pain to try to steal money from them but that’s how these scammers operate.
