Scammers have woken up to the fact that Facebook emails its users regularly with information about activity they may have missed.
e.g. a recent email to the radio station titled ‘You have notifications pending” was copied almost exactly from real emails by Facebook.
Hi,
Here’s some activity you might have missed on Facebook
4 friend request
If you don’t want to receive these notifications from Facebook in the future please click Unsubscribe.

The link to unsubscribe is actually the correct link for Facebook.
The one fake link they want you to click on is the “4 friend request” link which goes to a website that is clearly nothing to do with Facebook.
Many of us are so used to these kinds of messages from Facebook that it’s easy to ignore the words and just click. The email is from s019x404fr339 @hotmail.ca and that’s a give-away that it’s a scam message.
But don’t click – you could regret not paying sufficient attention.
