The email title is ‘Notice of Activated £750 Argos Voucher’
And it’s from argos @argoscustomers.com
It continues
“Dear” and then our email address as if it’s the name of someone.
“We have 6 Argos vouchers available. Claim one now”
“We have selected individuals in your area to receive £750 at Argos”
“Choose your Argos voucher now”.
And so on.
The Internet domain name argos.com is owned and used by Argos but anyone can buy names that sound as if they are part of Argos. In this case a scammer bought argoscustomers.com but I could buy argosfriends.com or argos.customergifts.com or argosvouchers.com etc. The name means nothing and certainly does not mean it has anything to do with the Argos company.
Argoscustomers is a scam site.
Don’t assume because an Internet domain is similar to an established company that it has anything to do with that company as it probably wont.
A voucher from Argos.com would be interesting but one from argoscustomers.com is just a scam.
