The percentage of businesses in the UK that import by ship and deal with Maersk shipping is a very small figure but this scammer is targeting them.

She’s doing a bad job though as the email seems to have gone to Yahoo addresses which are not business addresses – she could at least have bought a scam list of business email addresses.

She doesn’t have the skills to personalise the emails so it’s addressed to Dear Consignee.

It wants me to click a link supposedly to a document which is a bill of lading but is to a web site instead.

Maersk probably produces large numbers of similar emails but only to its own customers who will expect the messages and of course Maersk knows the names of its customers not just their email addresses so will personalise the messages and attach real documents.

Looks like a guaranteed fail scam email
