One of the standard email templates that many scammers use is
- A catchy but somewhat ridiculous subject line
- A story about an unexpected person with a secret
- That person has done something magical that can benefit millions and was thought impossible
- ‘Big’ industry of some kind is trying to stop the secret getting out as they would lose billions of dollars
- You can watch a video or download something special that tells you the secret
- You have to hurry because ‘Big’ industry will stop it very soon
Most of us have seen lots of these emails and they are laughable in their predictability and stupidity.
This latest one has the headline ‘Blind Eye Doctor Destroys the Vision Industry”.
Laughably silly – a ’blind’ doctor discovers a secret that restores vision to people with any kind of eye problem is the message in the email. I can imagine the scammer and her friends also having a good laugh over how pathetic the email sounds.
But sadly there may be some people who respond to it.
