This is a variant on the Microsoft Support scam whereby a web page message is used to convince you that your PC has problems and you need to call Microsoft Support on the supplied phone number.
It’s not really Microsoft of course and there’s nothing wrong with your PC but you end up paying a lot of money to fix a non-existent problem.
This variant starts with an email message claiming to be from Yahoo Mail Security but is actually from [email protected]
Some scammers use these ridiculously long email names to help them track responses to the messages they send out or sometimes because they think it looks official.
The email says
We Have Detected Unusual Activity With Your Yahoo Account on Your Computer
Login Has Occurred on 12/7/2017 @ 7:33 AM EST
From IP: 34.125.12.1 Geo Location Found: Eastern Russia
If This Was Not You Please Call the Yahoo Security Team
(Be at your computer)
The intent is to get you to phone that number while at your computer so they can talk you into downloading remote access software. This is supposedly so they can fix the problems but is really so they can take control and search for confidential information and/or convince you to pay for problems to be fixed.
Do not call phone numbers in emails and do not trust these kinds of email messages.
twqyadjdzr.com is clearly not Yahoo.com so If the message is not from whom they claim to be then it’s a scam.
